Getting in a car crash is probably the scariest and the most unpleasant incident that one can experience. My first car accident happened just two months after I aced my driving test with a 98! My car accident was both sad and comical because of the events that happened before and after the actual event of turning my drivable car into a tangible mess.
It was approximately 10:00 in the morning when I left for school on that fateful day. I was running late because my alarm had failed to wake up me. As I rushed to get ready, I felt a pang of hunger in my stomach. Luckily, there was a taco just lying around my house. It turns out that it was my favorite taco flavor! It was a bacon, egg, and cheese taco! So, without much thought, I grabbed my stuff for school, got my keys, started the car, and left for school. A couple of minutes later, BAM!, and my car was totally gone.
My crash happened because of a series of unfortunate events. The taco that I grabbed was on the farthest end of the front passenger seat. Nonchalantly, I grabbed my taco to eat. After all, I was extremely hungry from all the rushing and stress. As I looked back up, a truck had swerved into my lane. In panic, I swerved my steering wheel into the right, and BAM! I hit the rail of the bridge. It happened so fast that I was in shock for a good 5 minutes. I didn't know what had happened and I didn't know what to do. A man who was behind me came to my aid and checked if I was okay. That's when I realized that my face was throbbing. The airbag had hit my face and I was in a lot of pain. It felt like I broke my nose. when I looked at my right hand, I realized that I had crushed my taco. I got in a car accident and I didn't get a chance to eat!
There are several lessons to take from the accident. One thing that I learned is that alarm clocks are not reliable. But on a serious note, I have learned that when it comes to driving, it really is important to stay focus and not get distracted. Never eat and drive! It was a blessing that nobody got seriously hurt. In that note, I say to every driver out there to stay focus and drive on!
