Actors:
Macbeth was first published in 1623. Shakespeare had already passed but his works were well known throughout England. Because of his many works, he had a personal troupe with him. His troupe was the one who acted out his works. They were established in 1594, and they were first called The Lord Chamberlain's Men. The troupe was named this way because their patron was the Lord of Chamberlain. But in 1603, James I became the English King. James greatly appreciated the arts. He insisted that Shakespeare and his troupe should be under the king's patronage. Consequently, the acting troupe was renamed The King's Men. The first person who would have played Macbeth was Shakespeare's principal actor, Richard Burbage. The other members of The King's Men troupe were John Heminge, Augustine Phillips, William Kempe, Thomas Pope, George Bryan, Richard Cowley, Samuel Gilbourne, William Sly, Henry Condell, and John Sincler.

The Real Macbeth:
Macbeth was an original play written by William Shakespeare. The story is considered to be William Shakespeare's shortest tragedy. Although it is an original work, Shakespeare used historical English figures as characters for his play. The real Macbeth was born around 1005. Macbeth was born into a family of Scottish Earls. In the year 1040, Macbeth fought a major battle near Elgin, Morayshire. His opponent was the Scottish King at the time, Duncan I. During the battle, Macbeth managed to defeat Duncan I's troops, and he also killed Duncan I in the process. Five years later, Macbeth killed Duncan I's father in another battle. Consequently, Macbeth became the King of Scotland. He ruled Scotland for fourteen years. In 1054, Siward, the Earl of Northumbria challenged Macbeth's rule. Siward was the uncle of Duncan I's son, Malcolm. He was trying to restore the kingship back to his nephew. In 1057, Macbeth was overthrown and killed at the battle of Lumphanan. Consequently, Malcolm was renamed as Malcolm III, and became the King of Scotland.
